Skin Texture
Here are some magnified skin ridges. Ridges look like the ridges of a ploughed
field, making patterns on the surface of the skin. Skin ridges are widely known
for the fingerprint patterns they create, but they also create patterns all over
the palms.
Skin texture varies from person to person. Some have very coarse textured skin,
with wide, easily seen skin ridges. Others have a very fine skin, with ridges
that can be difficult to see without the aid of a very good light or a
magnifying glass. And between these two extremes are many variations. Analysts
tend to categorise skin into the following grades of texture:
Very coarse, coarse, coarse/medium, medium, medium/fine,
fine and very fine
In hands with a very coarse texture, an analyst will expect to find very few
palmar lines and the few lines there are will be deeply etched into the skin.
This reveals a strong, robust, earthy nervous system which is resistant to
disease but which may be lacking in sensitivity. Fine textured skin is
associated with numerous fine, more delicate lines tracing their way across the
palms, and reveals a weaker, more sensitive, delicate and finely tuned nervous
system.
As the skin ridges and the palmar lines become finer, so the nervous system
becomes more finely tuned by degrees. Many of us fall somewhere between coarse
and fine texture, revealing an awareness of our nervous system without being at
the mercy of it.
